The Jean Monnet Chair “Connecting Europe and Asia: People, Power and Policies” (CEAPPP) hosted the lecture on “Shaping EU-Asia Connectivity: The Role of Chinese Multinational Enterprises” organised by the Department of International Political Economy of East Asia, Faculty of East Asian Studies, Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Francesca Spigarelli, Full Professor of Applied Economics at the Department of Law and Director of the China Center at the University of Macerata.

In her lecture, Prof. Dr. Spigarelli focused on the role that Chinese FDI have been playing in creating linkages between EU and Asia since the launch of the Go Global policy at the beginning of the century. A specific attention was paid to logistics and manufacturing as key industries, as well as to the latest shift of priorities embraced with the 14th Five-Year Plan of China.
